Capturing the full story of any public figure can be a daunting task. But thinking through an idea can offer many options, including experimenting with format, words, video and animations. With this story, we wanted to connect the dots between Alex Jones’ public persona and how he operated behind the scenes. I found that laying out the evidence over the course of multiple chapters and underscoring our findings with key video moments was key.

We also felt it was important to reveal how several acts of violence, including the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol were rooted in violent rhetoric. Jones was a part of that.
